The Snorkel Instructor Training Course and Assessment (SITCA) is the first step in becoming a BSAC Snorkel Instructor. This program equips you with the skills and knowledge needed to teach safe and engaging snorkeling sessions.

📌 Prerequisites

✔ Minimum age: 16 years old.
✔ Must have good snorkeling skills and a basic understanding of safe snorkeling practices.
✔ No prior teaching experience required.

✅ 2 Days – Combination of classroom and practical training.

📝 Course Structure

🔹 Day 1 – Theoretical Training
✔ Understanding the principles of snorkeling instruction.
✔ Teaching techniques, including the demo-mimic method.
✔ Developing effective lesson plans and presentation skills.
✔ Learning safety procedures and risk assessment for snorkeling sessions.

🔹 Day 2 – Practical Training & Assessment
✔ Conducting a real snorkel training session under instructor supervision.
✔ Demonstrating effective student instruction in the water.
✔ Applying teaching techniques in both confined and open water environments.
✔ Final assessment and feedback.

📜 Certification

After successfully completing the assessment, participants will receive the BSAC Snorkel Instructor Certification, allowing them to teach snorkeling in clubs and diving centers worldwide.
